Since its founding as a civil engineering firm in 1987, BRICON has specialized in all types of excavation work, decontamination and snow removal.
In 1992, the firm decided to expand its activities to include sewer and water main construction and is increasing its market share in commercial and industrial sectors.
In 1994, the firm moved its head office in the St Bruno Industrial Park at the junction of Highways 30 and 116.
In 1995, Bricon set up Transport spécialisé Bricon, a company specializing in heavy equipment transport. The subsidiary has equipment with specially expanded load capacities for use in winter thaw periods in order to serve its clients throughout Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick.
In 1996, Bricon received the Dominique Rollin Award, for the "Construction Company of the Year" category, in an awards of excellence competition organized by the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.
In 1998, the firm decided to increase its share of the snow removal market and was awarded contracts by the Quebec Transport Department for snow removal on Highways 10 and 20. In 2005, Highways 30 and 116 on the Montreal South Shore was awarded to Bricon as well.
In 2002, Bricon purchased a primary and secondary crusher for material recycling purposes. Since then, the firm owns and operates three complete mobile crushing equipment and became a renowned specialist in concrete and asphalt recycling. More than 500 000 mt is crushed yearly.
In 2005, Bricon signed a deal for exploitation of Méthé’s Quarry in Stanbridge-Station.
In 2005, Bricon was awarded contracts for construction of Route 132 crossing the cities of Candiac and Delson by the Quebec Transport Department. The $42 million contract included 2,2 km of Highway as well as 3 concrete structures.
In 2006, Bricon acquired Transporrt Jeanotte in order to increase bulk transport facility.
In 2007, Bricon acquired Recy-Mat, an important company specialised in aggregate crushing with capacities up to 6000mt per working shift. Bricon is now in the leading position in the crushing industry.
The company's sales have risen from $2 million in 1992 to $55 million for 2006. The Bricon Team has currently over 150 employees.
